Todd Speakman
By 19, Todd was already touring Europe as a drummer, Performing with artists like Balkan Electro pioneer Max Pashm and Canadian songstress Tia Brazda, and sharing stages alongside legends like Bryan Ferry and Alexander O’Neal.
A pivotal moment came in 2013 when Todd received an arts grant to set up a studio with his brother, Guy Speakman. This led him to collaborate with UK Immersive Theatre giants; Secret Cinema, creating soundscapes that blur the lines between music and theatre. His remix of Laura Marling’s critically acclaimed album “Once I Was an Eagle” further showcased his ability to craft immersive experiences and tell stories through music. Todd collaborated with Laura Marling and the script cinema team to remix the stems from the album and create a moving immersive narrative for audiences to explore whilst traveling through an abandoned victorian school in East London.
Todd's impressive resume includes composing for global campaigns for brands like Nike, Puma, F&F, Schwarzkopf, HTC, and TCL, as well as scoring the BBC feature documentary "Anabel’s A String of Naked Lightbulbs" and several short documentary series for the BFI through Deadbeat Films.
His production credits also span artists and labels such as Franc Moody, Perry Farrell, Sharky, Tru Thoughts, Ninja Tune, Audio Network, and Red Bull Media.
Outside of commercial projects, Todd passionately pursues personal ventures. His dance music project, ‘Speakman’, has captured the attention of listeners worldwide, amassing millions of streams and showcasing his eclectic sound at renowned festivals, including a standout performance on the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury and a sold-out show at KOKO.
